League One title-winning defender Conor Shaughnessy has agreed a new 3-year deal to remain at Fratton Park until at least 2027.
Portsmouth Football Club have the option to trigger an additional 12 months on to Shaughnessy's contract should they wish to do so.
The former Burton Albion defender had an incredible debut season on the South Coast, starting 45 of Pompey's 46 League One matches in 2023/24 and scoring that late goal which confirmed the Blues as champions against Barnsley on April the 16th. The only league match in which he did not start was the opening day stalemate with Bristol Rovers at Fratton Park, where Regan Poole partnered Ryley Towler at the back.
Shaughnessy made 49 appearances for Pompey in all competitions last season.
The 27-year-old managed to score 4 goals, 3 of which were late winners.
Head coach John Mousinho told club officials: "He [Conor] was named in the League One Team of the Year and also chipped in with some really important goals - including, of course, that one against Barnsley.
"So we were keen to give him a new deal and are delighted to keep Conor at the club for even longer."
