New Deal For Regan Poole

The Blues defender has agreed a contract extension with Portsmouth Football Club, keeping him on the South Coast until the summer of 2027.

There is also a further 12 month option for Pompey to trigger should they wish to keep the Welshman at Fratton Park until 2028.

Poole originally signed from Lincoln City in the summer of 2023 and it didn't take long for him to establish himself as a regular in the Portsmouth team, featuring consistently at the start of last season's march to the League One title before a picking up an ACL injury away at Chesterfield in The FA Cup.

During the 2023/24 campaign, the defender also earned his first senior cap for Wales, running out in a friendly victory over Gibraltar.

Blues head coach John Mousinho said: "Regan is an important member of our squad and we're delighted that he's agreed a new deal.

"After working so hard to get back to full fitness after a serious injury, he has adapted brilliantly to life in the Championship.

"He has everything you want to see in a modern centre-back - good with the ball at his feet and aggressive without it.

"Now he can focus on trying to have a strong finish to the season and help the team continue this positive run of form."

So far for Portsmouth, Poole has made 33 appearances and scored 3 goals.
