Pompey Women Announce Retained List

At least 10 players to depart as Portsmouth FC Women announce 2024 retained list.

Portsmouth's Women made a return to the 2nd tier following a phenomenal campaign in the FA Women's National League - Southern Premier Division, of which they topped with a record 61 points after 22 games.

Jay Sadler's side suffered just 1 league defeat all season and conceded only 10 league goals in the process.

Along the way, many incredible memories were made, including another unforgettable run to the National League Cup Semi-Final... The Blues made it to the final 4 of the competition in 2023 before being dumped out with a heavy 5-0 defeat away at Nottingham Forest, however this time around in 2024, the loss was by just 2 goals to 1 away at St. James' Park, where a fully-professional Newcastle United outfit progressed to the Final in front of over 22,000 spectators on Tyneside.

Newcastle went on to lose to Hashtag United in the Final at Luton Town's Kenilworth Road.

Last week, Portsmouth Football Club announced the retained and released list for the women's side, just weeks after the men's retained and released list sent shockwaves amongst the fanbase.

10 players will leave the Pompey Women setup following the expiration of their contracts this summer with 7 others currently in talks with the club over new deals.
