Westleigh Park will today host a top-of-the-table clash in the FA Women's National League - Southern Premier Division.
The Blues head into this afternoon's match off the back of a 1-0 win away at Billericay Town last time out, whereas visitors and league leaders Hashtag are fresh off a 3-2 victory over MK Dons.
Midfielder Annie Rolf returned to the squad for that game, which saw Pompey keep up the pressure on today's opponents at the top of the table.
She has been speaking to Jake Smith ahead of the Hashtag encounter, as well as how it's felt to return from injury and making her 50th appearance for the club in the previous fixture.
Jay Sadler's side are 2nd in the FA Women's National League - Southern Premier Division but are only 3 points behind Hashtag with 2 games in hand. The encounter at Westleigh Park this weekend provides an opportunity to leapfrog their closest rivals at the summit on goal difference and still have 2 games in lieu.
Hashtag are currently the only side to have beaten Pompey in the league this season but it's Sadler's team who have a far, far superior goal difference heading into the second half of the campaign.
The Blues' head coach has been talking to Jake in the build-up to this afternoon's encounter about what he will be expecting from the opposition and what it means to him to have surpassed 200 games in charge.
25-year-old forward Daisy McLachlan is the player in question when Sadler talks there about a new signing coming through the door - That interview was recorded prior to the announcement.
McLachlan returns to Portsmouth after 5 years away, least featuring in 2018 after having scored 18 goals in 29 appearances for the club across 2 seasons.
She had left the club to go and play for London Bees before then spending 4 years at Oxford United, arriving back on the South Coast from AFC Wimbledon.
Jay Sadler told club officials: "Daisy will add an extra dimension to our attacking line, offering directness, power and an eye for goal.
"It's a signing that will most definitely excite the fans - and I know we're all looking forward to seeing her on the pitch soon."
We understand that Daisy McLachlan will be available for selection for today's game.
Tickets for today's league meeting with Hashtag are available on the turnstiles with adults priced at £8, seniors (65+) £5 and under-18s £3. Pompey season ticket holders are eligible for discount. Over 850 tickets have already been bought in advance and the club are anticipating the highest attendance in the league this weekend.
After this match, the Portsmouth Women are not in action again for another fortnight - They next take on Ipswich Town in the FA Women's National League Cup at the AGL Arena on Sunday the 28th of January.
