Pompey Live's Kirsty Roxanne takes a closer look at the Championship leaders ahead of Sunday's televised clash at Fratton Park.
Despite a 1-0 defeat to Luton Town last time out, the Blues remain 17th in the Championship.
John Moushino’s side head back to PO4 to take on top of the division Leeds next, let’s look closer into the side the Blues are up against.
MANAGER
Daniel Farke is in the dugout for The Whites.
Farke spent most of his playing days with SV Lippstadt, where he also began his managerial career in 2009.
After Leeds were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 season, Farke was appointed manager on a 4-year contract.
Although accumulating 90 points in his first season as manager, Leeds still missed out on automatic promotion last term by 6 points before going on to lose the Play-Off final to Southampton.
ONE TO WATCH
Our one to watch this time around is winger Daniel James.
James started his career at Swansea City before signing for Manchester United, where he made 74 appearances for the club.
The 27-year-old joined The Whites in 2021 and last season alone he made 43 league appearances, registering 13 assists and 8 goals.
So far this campaign, the number 7 already has 10 assists and has bagged 9 league goals.
TOP SCORER
The current top goalscorer for Leeds and the joint-top scorer for the Championship as a whole is number 10 Joël Piroe.
After making the move from Swansea City to Leeds in August 2023, Piroe scored on his debut against Ipswich.
From 35 league appearances this season, the striker has 15 goals, equal with Norwich forward Borja Sainz.
CURRENT FORM
Leeds currently sit top of the Championship with a 3 point lead over 2nd place Sheffield United. Daniel Farke's side have also accumulated the highest goal difference in the league with +50.
The Whites recently drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion, ending their 5-game winning streak.
The last time these sides met was the first game of the Championship season, where the Blues gathered a point at Elland Road following an incredible 3-3 draw.
