A Coronavirus Local Testing Site has opened in Fareham

The walk-through, appointment-only Local Testing Site is located at Cams Alders Car Park.

Before visiting appointments must be booked online at nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.

Testing is available for those with coronavirus symptoms, however mild (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste) and only with an appointment.

Testing is free and involves a swab of the nose and back of the throat, which takes less than a minute to complete.

It is also important to note that when booking a test, you will be offered the next available appointment – this may not necessarily be in the location nearest to where you live.

Anyone testing positive for the virus in England will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace to help them track their contacts. This will help people to identify who they may have been in close contact with, protecting others from further transmission.

Close contacts of those testing positive will also hear from NHS Test and Trace, asking them to stay at home for 14 days to prevent them from unknowingly spreading the virus. They will be advised to also book a test if they develop symptoms.
