A new online digital platform for Portsmouth Creatives to Take Time during Covid-19 lockdown

Take Time Portsmouth is an exciting new initiative by local creative Ben Clabon that is being supported by Portsmouth Creates.

This will be a new digital platform for people who work or have worked in Portsmouth at any point during their creative journeys, anyone who is inspired by the city or is stuck at home looking for inspiration for new pastimes during lockdown and the city provides that reason to be.

As a creative community working together we are now limited in how we do this. With the Take Time project, we would like to make this happen on a
digital platform, as creative people from whatever background or media.

Professionals who need the power of an audience to share research, feedback, challenge and support, or individuals with a passion for Portsmouth that are seeking to explore new avenues to inspire them during this challenging period - this is a place to be able to do just that!

It will be a safe and inclusive environment that is not about what you have done before but what you want to do now! A kind of virtual creative coffee
shop – giving you a helpful sounding board for ideas, a network to connect you that won’t judge, facilitating new contacts. The aim is to inspire, support your ideas, finding you new outlets to express those and contacts to move your ideas onwards.

Ben says “I started the idea for Take Time Portsmouth as I felt slightly stranded as a creative in this vibrant city, I have always been out going and been able to put on brave face at a social or networking event but I don’t have that forum anymore! I just thought how great it would be to have a safe place to have a virtual cuppa of tea or something stronger and Share, Connect, Support and Take Some Time”.
