Blue Reef Aquarium is hosting Monsoon Magic in their brand new exhibit this school holiday.
The Easter event will allow visitors to get up close and personal to the 500 new tank inhabitants, running until April 24th.
Blue Reef’s Jenna Macfarlane, said: “The new exhibit was inspired by the Asian rainforest and features it’s very own waterfall and two full-sized trees. “We are all very excited to see the new area open, especially just before the school holidays. The tank looks great with the wide variety of fresh water fish, which include Tiger Barbs, Bala Sharks, Boesmani Rainbows and Red Tail Sharks.
“We have also added important information about looking after our rainforests and the consequences we could all face if these beautiful sights of nature no longer exist.”
Children’s entertainer Silly Scott will be visiting the aquarium on the 10th, 12th, 17th and 21st of April for under the sea themed magical tricks and shows.
Youngsters will also be able to get into the spirit of Easter by going on their very own egg hunt, which they will find hidden in the different exhibits.
From the hidden world of UK waters, Blue Reef, Portsmouth transports visitors to the spectacular ‘underwater gardens’ of the Mediterranean and the stunning beauty of tropical waters - home to everything from seahorses and puffer fish to living corals and tropical sharks. The aquarium has its very own fully-enclosed outdoor Beach Club area, equipped with sandpits, play equipment and water fountains. Picnic benches are readily available and are over looking the bustling Solent.
The aquarium will be open from 10am until 6pm, with last admission at 5pm.
