The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre is holding Havant at Home, a free outdoor event to celebrate Havant and the people who call it home this Saturday from Midday.
Taking place on Saturday 29th July, from midday to 5pm in Havant Park (opposite Havant Bus Station), Havant at Home centres on two performances of Home, an aerial circus show by HikapeeTheatre that explores the concept of ‘home’ and what it means to people. Performances of Home will be taking place at 1pm and 3pm.
As well as the performances of Home, there will also be a range of local acts performing on the community stage. They include Portsmouth singer-songwriter Tim Cheatle, bands Wood, Wire and Words and Moon Cats (both based on Hayling Island), a ukulele group from Emsworth and others. There will be a selection of food and drink available from local suppliers including succulent pork reared by Park Community School and indulgent ice-creams from Just Dessertz. There will also be stalls and activities from a range of local groups and organisations who support our community: children’s play areas and rides plus more!
The Spring has received funding to help run this event from Celebrate, a new £5m grant programme that launched in July 2016 from the Big Lottery Fund for communities across the UK to celebrate what makes their local neighbourhood great.
As well as funding from the Big Lottery Fund, Havant at Home is supported by Arts Council England, The D’Oyly Carte Trust, Hampshire County Council, Havant Borough Councillors Jackie Branson and Tim Pike.
