A new series exploring the history of our beloved Portsmouth Football Club launches this week in a partnership between Express FM and Pompey History Society.
Past Chimes is fronted by former BBC Local Radio presenter and producer Richard Atkins-Greig who will be joined by a passionate Pompey guest on the last Sunday of each month to delve into the club's fascinating ups and downs, twists and turns, over the years since its foundation in 1898.
The first show features local historian Mick Comben whose new book "The Making of Modern Pompey and the Men Who Made It" sheds new light on how Portsmouth FC was formed, challenging some of the received wisdoms about its foundation.
Express FM Content Manager Harrison RB said: "Express FM and Pompey History Society have worked together before but the launch of this new show is the most significant milestone in our partnership.
"As the voice of the fans through our passionate Pompey coverage, and a radio station keen to explore local history, Past Chimes is the perfect fit for Express FM and a powerful platform for Pompey History Society.
"Richard's radio background and strong local connections makes him the ideal presenter for the show and we're really excited for what he, and most importantly his guests, will bring to the party."
February's show will debut on Express FM at 9pm on Sunday 23rd February. Details of future broadcasts will be made available in due course.
