From Friday 27 to Sunday 29 of August, people aged 16 and over can get their COVID-19 vaccination at a pop-up clinic at Victorious festival, taking place on Southsea Common in Portsmouth.
The clinic, run by Solent NHS Trust, will be running on the following days:
- Friday 27 August from 12-5pm
- Saturday 28 August from 10am – 4pm
- Sunday 29 August from 11am-3pm
The pop-up is located within the grounds of the festival (marked number 16 on the festival map) and those aged 16 and over, who have entry to the event can turn up to get their first or second dose (if it has been eight weeks since their first dose) of the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine - no appointments are necessary. Second doses of the Moderna vaccine are available at St James’s Hospital in Portsmouth.
Vaccines are offered on a first come, first served basis and there may be a short wait for people to receive their vaccine.
Stephanie Clark, Clinical Lead for Community Vaccinations at Solent NHS Trust, said: “We are really excited to be vaccinating at the festival this bank holiday weekend, it’s such a fantastic event. The vaccine has helped people to start doing things they love again, like coming to listen to live music with their friends and family.
“Anyone aged 16 or over who has entry to the festival can come and visit us if they need a jab – our friendly team of clinicians and volunteers are also on hand to help provide support and guidance for anyone that has any questions about the vaccine.”
If you cannot attend the walk-in clinic at the festival, pre-booked appointments for those aged 17 and 9 months are also available at one of the mass vaccinations centres across Hampshire and the IOW by visiting www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or by calling 119, free of charge.
Alternatively, anyone aged 16 or over can contact their GP or find a full list of walk-in clinics available throughout the region on the NHS walk-in website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/find-a-walk-in-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccination-site/
Whilst visiting the pop-up at Victorious for a vaccination, people are reminded to follow the ‘hands, face, space’ guidance to help control the virus.
