A local family have recently handed over a generous donation of £1500 on behalf of the Taverners Masonic Lodge to the Children’s Bubbles Fund at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
5 years ago, daughter Savannah suffered a stroke at aged 4. She was admitted to QA where she and her family spent a week in the Children’s Department where she made her recovery.
Dad Ben Paterson said: ‘Our family has visited this Department quite a few times with various ailments over the years, Jacob is quite accident prone for example.
‘I am part of a Masonic Lodge, the Taverners Lodge, and we had two chosen charities for 2017, one of which was The Children’s Bubbles Fund. We did various fundraising events throughout the year like a raffle, race night and ladies’ night. The service at QA has always been exceptional, there’s always plenty for the kids to do, so this money will go towards continuing that.’
The Children’s Bubbles Fund resides within Portsmouth Hospitals Charity, based at QA.
Portsmouth Hospitals Charity aims to support the patients of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust by improving existing facilities and by providing additional equipment, supporting research programmes and innovation in the development of services and education to both patients and staff.
