A new-look ice skating experience in Guildhall Square is set to bring family fun to Portsmouth this winter.
The rink, which includes a canopy for guaranteed skating whatever the weather, will open its doors to the public for hour-long sessions from 10am this Saturday, 23 November 2019, through to Sunday 5 January 2020. Tickets can be booked via the Portsmouth Ice Skating website and the rink is wheelchair user friendly for all sessions.
In addition to offering family and concession tickets (concessions for those in the Armed Forces, NHS staff and for students), Portsmouth Ice Skating will be hosting dedicated SEND sessions. Held during term-time weekdays, SEND sessions (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) will keep noise, and visitor numbers, low to create a calm, welcoming atmosphere on the rink for visitors with special educational needs and disabilities.
Tickets are bookable via the Portsmouth Ice Skating website with adult tickets costing £10.50 and child tickets £9. Family bundles and off-peak season tickets available with full details to follow on the website.
Portsmouth Ice Skating will be run by S3K, a leading event logistics agency based on the south coast. With over 20 years of experience in designing, building and managing large scale events, S3K is looking forward to its inaugural year at Guildhall Square.
Ed White, Managing Director of S3K, said: “We are very excited to be running the ice rink in Guildhall Square for the first time this year. We have really enjoyed working hard behind the scenes with Portsmouth City Council to bring an upgraded skating experience to the community this winter and look forward to getting underway on Saturday 23 November.”
Hot beverages will be available to purchase rink-side and visitors are encouraged to use Portsmouth’s surrounding outlets such the JD Wetherspoon pub, The Isambard Kingdom Brunel, for food and drink.
