Portsmouth’s Express FM announces exciting new spring schedule

    New presenters and shows at Express FM

    More well-known faces and voices from Portsmouth’s vibrant entertainment and wellbeing scene are taking to the Express FM airwaves this spring.

    There’s a new sound to Friday nights on Express FM as renowned Portsmouth-based singer-songwriter and performer, Tash Hills, will be playing the songs that inspired her sound to get your night off to the perfect start. The Tash Hills Mixtape starts this Friday, 4 April, from 7pm.

    Ready For The Weekend? Portsmouth DJ Neil “Peanut” Levy is teaming up with local stand-up comedian Marcus Tisson for a new late-night entertainment show with great music, fun, games and special guests every Friday from 11pm. The show launches this week (4 April) with Mayfield Records Founder Dom Elton.

    Express Yourself is a new regular show focusing on the story behind your “WHY?” Whatever the community organisation or initiative, award-winning podcaster and CEO of The Beautiful Mind Coach Hannah Murray will be sharing the powerful journeys that led to them with a variety of interesting guests right here in Portsmouth. Details of when you can hear Express Yourself will be available in due course.

    Does It Djent? “Most of it will but some of it won’t”, says Lily Rose who will be bringing a progressive, groove, avant-garde and industrial metal sound to Saturday nights from 11pm - immediately following Chas Byrne’s Rock Show from 9pm. Air guitars at the ready, Portsmouth! Starting this Saturday (5th April).

    Esteemed Express FM talent Adam Jenkins is your new Saturday mid-morning presenter, 11am-2pm, with great music, games and other fun features to soundtrack your weekend. Adam moves from Friday nights and replaces Lily, who moves to her aforementioned new specialist music show, from Saturday 12th April.

    Last, but most definitely not least, local journalist, performer and co-creator of Pompey Poetry Party, Caroline Brennan, will host a brand new Sunday night show, every week from 9pm-11pm. Starting 3rd May, Sunday Night Love will include music & conversation to help you unwind with a sprinkling of poetry and interesting guests.

    “Celebrating Portsmouth’s diverse culture and vibrant creative scene is very important to us and we continue on that mission with these new shows from Tash, Neil & Marcus, Hannah, Adam, Lily and Caroline.”
