Dr Nicola Brown, a member of the breast research group at the University of Portsmouth will be running 70 miles from Portsmouth starting Monday in memory of her research colleague Dr Alex Milligan.
Also a Senior Lecturer at St Mary's University in Twickenham, Nicola will be running 70 miles from Portsmouth to Twickenham in memory of Dr Alex Milligan from the University of Portsmouth who tragically lost her battle against leukaemia earlier this year.
Nicola, who studied for her undergraduate degree and PhD at Portsmouth, will be running with her St Mary's colleague Dr Bernadette Dancy. The challenge, called Blood, Sweat and Tears, will raise awareness for blood and stem cell donation.
It will start at the University of Portsmouth at 7am on Monday morning and on day one, they will run to Godalming (40 miles) and on day two, they will complete the final 30 miles arriving at St Mary's University in Twickenham.
